1. Approve minutes from the May 28, 2007 meeting
Lisa Sargent motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Bob Dickenson seconded the motion and all were in favor.

2. Funds Drive Activities
Lisa Sargent has organized a walk-a-thon to be held on Saturday, July 21. Walkers will meet at the Town Office at 8:00 AM to sign in. The walk will start at 8:30 AM. The route will follow Route 5 north from the Town Office to Thrasher Road; west on Thrasher Road to Victory Drive; south on Victory Drive to Route 131; east on Route 131 to Route 5 north; then back to the Town Office. Lisa handed out pledge forms and release forms.

3. Results of briefing to the Select Board
Chip and Bob Dickenson gave the Select Board a presentation about the activities of the committee since its creation in 2005. They asked the Select Board to support the committee's recommendation of the green in Perkinsville as the site for the monument. The Select Board agreed to support the choice with the Church's approval.

A legal relationship must now be established between the Church and the Town.

4. Other Business
Now that a location has been chosen for the monument, the committee can return to Tom Kennedy at the Regional Planning Commission to begin in earnest the search for grant funds.

Chip thanked the Weathersfield Bow Association for their offer to place the monument on the green in the Bow, but said we were committed to the green in Perkinsville at this time. If for any rason the Perkinsville site became unavailable, we would re-consider the Bow.

Additional fund-raising ideas were discussed including a chicken barbeque for the fall.

The committee agreed that we should focus on raising $9,000 with which to remove the stones from the McDerment's property and get them to Barre.

The committee agreed that future invoices should be approved by the committee before they are paid.

The committee feels that there is insufficient awareness of the project. It was suggested that the Town's website might be used to correct this situation.
